Academic Success Press has been in business for fifteen years. Academic Success markets ten books, two audio cassette tapes, one video tape, and three computer programs that have been written by professionals in the field and are all based on solid educational research that has proven to improve student learning and grades. Its best selling text Winning at Math - Your Guide to Learning Mathematics Through Successful Study Skills was selected "Math Book of the Year" by the National Association of Independent Publishers. The two audio cassettes, How to Reduce Test Anxiety and How to Ace Tests were also winners of the awards. Academic Success Press has dedicated itself to making students better learners and instructors better teachers.
Academic Success Press first focused on improving the success of students taking mathematics courses. With the addition of Kimberly Ruble-Nolting, expert in developmental education and learning assistance training, the company has expanded its resources to include materials and professional training in the areas of learning assistance/tutor training, teaching strategies for the classroom, and classroom/program assessment. Since Kimberly Ruble-Nolting has taught developmental English and reading, and has managed a learning assistance center, the company has expanded its services to all the developmental education areas and beyond. The companyÕs consulting areas also include teaching and learning strategies for all academic disciplines including learning disabilities.
The principal author to Academic Success Press is Learning Specialist Paul D. Nolting, Ph.D. Dr. Nolting holds a Ph.D. In Education from the University of South Florida. His successful Ph.D. dissertation was on improving the academic achievement of developmental mathematics students who had failed mathematics one to three times by enrolling them in a Math Study Skills course. He is a learning specialist, an instructor at the University of South Florida, and has been a board member of the Florida Developmental Education Association. He is also a national trainer of math study skills, learning styles, and learning disabilities.
